Bad weather and structural problems have again delayed the completion of the Weston Public Library roof repairs, which were scheduled to be done near Christmas. The post-holiday blizzard set the work crew back several days, and a weeklong rain in September also hindered progress.
J. Antonelli Roofing started replacing the library's roof in September after winning the contract with a bid of $186,338 for the work. The three-man crew has yet to start on the north end roof, which is about 25 percent of the total roof area, according to officials.
The library's main entrance has been closed since late November, although patrons can still access the building through the automatic sliding doors.
Antonelli's job superintendent Mike Horwath said he and his crew are working diligently to complete the roof work in the next few weeks. Library staff members have been patient with the construction noise and delays, Horwath said.
Does the noise from the library roof construction bother you at all?
