James Fahey, executive director of the Association of Commuter Rail Employees, and the union’s executive board have agreed to ask its members to authorize a strike that would affect commuters across Fairfield County and the Hudson Valley on all lines of Metro-North, according to lohud.com.

The union represents nearly 2,500 Metro-North engineers and conductors. A strike would affect approximately 300,000 daily. There is no timeline for any possible strike.
