WESTPORT, Conn. -- Westport train commuters can take their complaints -- and their compliments -- straight to the top.

The new president of Metro-North, Joseph Guilietti, and Connecticut Transportation Commissioner James Redeker will answer questions from commuters on Thursday, April 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Westport Metro-North eastbound station house.

Members of the legislative Transportation Committee, including state Sen. Toni Boucher and state Rep. Jonathan Steinberg will be on hand along with members of the Connecticut Rail Council, according to an announcement from Steinberg (D-Westport).

"The forum will feature an update on Metro-North's operations, as outlined in the 100 Days Plan," Steinberg said. "It will serve as an opportunity for Metro-North and CDOT to discuss current status of the plan and frame the timetable for when riders can expect to see tangible results."

There will be a public comment period so legislators and others can hear from Fairfield County rail commuters.

It will be Guiletti’s first visit to Westport since taking over as Metro-North president in February. The beleaguered commuter railroad has faced increasing complaints in the past year, after two derailments and many service interruptions.
