WESTPORT, Conn. A resident of Westport's Gillespie Center was arrested Friday morning after he punched another resident in the face, police say.
Ruben Reyes, 47, reportedly became argumentative and aggressive toward the manager at the center at 45 Jesup Road. When another resident intervened, Reyes punched him and continued fighting, police say. Other residents eventually broke up the fight.
Reyes was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was unable to post $1,000 bond and was arraigned in Norwalk court.

? Fairfield resident Justan Gemmell was charged with drunk driving in Westport last Tuesday night after he crashed his car into another vehicle, police say. The accident took place on Post Road East and Hillspoint Road.
Witnesses told police that Gemmell, 30, hit the back of another car and tried to drive away. But he lost control of his car and ran into the stop sign on Hillspoint Road, police say. In speaking with Gemmell, officers smelled alcohol on his breath. Several bottles of beer were also spotted on the floor of his car, police say.
Gemmell failed field sobriety tests and was charged with operating under the influence, evading responsibility, following too close and drinking while driving. The results of his breath test were 0.236 and 0.218: the legal blood-alcohol limit is 0.08. He was released after posting $1,000 bond and is due in court Aug. 18.
