Man Dies In Fall While Working On Roof Of Home In Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. — One worker was killed and a second one was suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday after they fell off the roof of a three-story home in Westport, police said.

The Westport Police Department, Westport Fire Department and Westport Emergency Medical Services responded to a Norwalk Avenue home at 12:45 p.m. Sunday on a report that two male workers had fallen off a three-story roof, police said. 

Responding units found one of the victims was dead at the scene, police said. The second victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

The names of the two men were withheld until their families could be properly notified, police said.

The Connecticut Post reported that the men were making repairs on the roof of the home, which was set up with scaffolding.

The Westport Police Department's Patrol Division and Detective Bureau were investigating, along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. At this time, no foul play was suspected, police said.
