Man Charged With Prescription Fraud in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – Weston resident Simon Billig was arrested in Westport last Thursday after he tried to get forged prescriptions filled at Walgreens, police said.

Billig, 45, allegedly made blank copies of a genuine prescription he received from a doctor in Fairfield, police said. He was charged with two counts of second-degree forgery, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, attempt to commit illegal use of a forged prescription and obtaining a controlled drug with a forged prescription.

Billig was released after posting a $5,000 bond and is due in court on Nov. 7.

? A Stamford woman was arrested in Westport Sunday night after she was found in possession of heroin, police said.

Officers received a call about a suspicious car at 880 Post Road E. When officers arrived, they found Annabel Rivera, 41, inside the car holding a syringe, police said. In searching the car, police found a plastic bag between the driver's seat and center console that contained syringes and a brown powder substance that tested positive for heroin.

Rivera was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a promise to appear on count on Nov. 8, as requested by the bail commissioner.
