WESTPORT, Conn. A 54-year-old Woodbridge resident was charged with driving drunk Saturday morning after his car was spotted swerving on Saugatuck Avenue, police said.
John Bachelder was driving south on Saugatuck Avenue when police saw his car cross over the double yellow center line twice. Bachelder then entered I-95 northbound, where he was stopped. Police reported smelling alcohol on Bachelder's breath.
He failed field sobriety tests with blood alcohol levels of .147 and .136. The legal blood-alcohol limit in the state is .08. Bachelder was charged with driving under the influence and failure to drive right. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is due in court on Sept. 27.

? Norwalk resident Michael Paulovic, 50, turned himself in to Westport police last Thursday on a warrant charging him with failure to pay or plead on an infraction charge he received last October. He was released after posting a $250 bond and is due in court on Sept. 26.
? Bridgeport resident Sam Sezer, 26, was arrested in Westport last Thursday after he was stopped for a motor vehicle violation. When his name was checked through the computer, it was discovered he was wanted by State Police Troop G on a warrant for second-degree failure to appear, police said. The warrant stems charges he received in 2008. He was released after posting a $500 bond and is due in court on Sept. 27.
