The saying is, "There's no place like home." But Westport resident Michael Mitchell was allegedly caught sleeping at someone else's home.
Mitchell, of Canal Park, was arrested early Friday after police were called to a disturbance at a Westport home. Upon arrival, officers learned that Mitchell, 45, had been chased out of the house by the homeowner after he was found sleeping in one of the bedrooms, police said. The homeowner reported that Mitchell was a former tenant, but he was reportedly warned he was not welcome there any longer.
Mitchell was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and is due in court May 2.
