Things got ugly between Westport resident Thomas Carstens, of 60 Compo Mill Cove, and his girlfriend Wednesday morning after she asked him to move out of her house.
According to police reports, Carstens, 46, and his girlfriend got into an argument after he was asked to move out. When the argument got violent, the woman tried to call 911. But Carstens allegedly ripped the phone out of her hand, causing a minor injury to her.
Carstens was charged with interfering with an emergency call and disorderly conduct. He appeared in court Oct. 28. His next court date is Dec. 1

Norwalk resident Fred Bernadel was served with an arrest warrant by Westport police Wednesday morning at Norwalk Superior Court, where he was appearing on unrelated charges. The warrant stemmed from a September incident in which Bernadel, 37, allegedly made threatening phone calls and held his girlfriend against her will by threatening her life with a screwdriver. Bernadel was charged with breach of peace, disorderly conduct, threatening and unlawful restraint. He is due in court Nov. 8.
