Man Arrested After Losing His Cool in Westport

Ordering police officers around was just one of several missteps Wilton resident Adam Nistico made Monday night in Westport, police said.

Nistico, 27, was arrested after the Westport Police Marine Unit responded to a report of a fight on a boat near Cockenoe Island. When officers arrived, they found five passengers on the boat, Nistico included, and evidence of a fight. As the boat was being towed in for further investigation, Nistico became verbally abusive and belligerent. He also issued commands to the officers and other boat passengers, police said.

When he was taken into custody at the marina, Nistico started kicking the doors of the police cruiser, banging his head against the back seat and spitting on the rear windows. He also made threatening comments to the officers.

Nistico was charged with breach of peace, fourth-degree criminal mischief and threatening. He was released after posting $1,500 bond and is due in court June 7.

Also from the police blotter:

• Westport resident Alan Unger, of 785 Post Road E., was arrested Saturday night on a charge of violating a protective order. The issuer of the protective order told police that Unger, 44, went to her house, punched her and wouldn't leave. The woman said she was not injured and declined medical assistance. Unger was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and disorderly conduct. He was held on $1,500 bond until his court appearance May 31.
