BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Kyle Navin, who is charged with murder in the shooting deaths of his Easton parents last year, is considering whether to accept a plea bargain or go to trial, according to the Connecticut Post.

When Navin, 28, appeared in Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday, Judge Robert Devlin said that he must make a decision for his next court appearance Dec. 1.

Navin was charged with two counts of murder and one count of murder under special circumstances. If found guilty, he could face a maximum of life in prison without release.

Jeffrey Navin, 56, president of J&J Refuse, and Jeanette Navin, 55, a library paraprofessional at Weston Intermediate School, went missing Aug. 4, 2015. They were discovered Oct. 29, 2015, buried under leaves in the yard of a deserted home in Weston.

Police said that Navin had an extensive heroin habit and killed his parents, who had threatened to cut him off financially, to get their money.

His girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante, 31, was charged with conspiracy to commit murder and hindering prosecution in the case.
