Kathy Kincaid, Community Volunteer

Westport resident Sandra Kathleen (Kathy) Kincaid, an active volunteer in the community, died Oct. 5 in Corfu, Greece, after brief illness. She was 65.

Kincaid was born Sept. 17, 1945, in New Orleans and was raised in St. Petersburg, Fla. In 1983, she moved to Westport and became an active member of many organizations, including the Westport Young Women's League , Friends of St. Vincent's Hall Brooke Behavioral Center , Michael Bolton Charities , the Westport Historical Society , the Westport Women's Club and Builders Beyond Borders .

She also served as a board member of the Domestic Violence Crisis Center and was the initial volunteer coordinator for Fairfield County Concours d'Elegance .

Kincaid graduated with a degree in fine arts from Indiana University, where she was also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

After graduation, she joined IBM and held many management and executive positions until she retired in 1999 after 31 years of service. Kincaid loved to travel. Most recently she was a realtor with William Pitt Sotheby's in Westport.

She is survived by her sister, Susan Kincaid Shuck, her brother-in-law, John William Shuck, and her niece, Cynthia Jennings Shuck.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport. Interment will be private.
