A couple from Stratford and their infant son were hospitalized Wednesday night after their car struck the median on Interstate 95 north in Westport between exits 17 and 18.
The accident happened shortly after 9 p.m. Westport firefighters first at the scene reported that the driver and passenger complained of neck and back problems. They were later placed on backboards and transported to Norwalk Hospital by Westport EMS. Their son was also taken to the hospital for observation.
According to Assistant Fire Chief William Dingee, the driver was trying to move away from a tractor-trailer changing lanes but lost control of the car because of slick road conditions.
A flatbed truck from Westport Service Center removed the car from the highway at about 9:40 p.m.
