- Protestors from Fairfield County joined others across the nation in descending on airports to protest Trump's executive order banning Muslims from seven countries entry to the U.S. In Connecticut, a large crowd filled much of the baggage claim area at Bradley International Airport for a peaceful but loud protest last weekend.
- A 15-year Danbury police force veteran was arrested on a charge of kicking a handcuffed suspect in the head who had viciously attacked another Danbury officer, according to the arrest warrant. Officer David Williams, 43, was charged with second-degree breach of peace after "using unnecessary force against a handcuffed suspect" on July 29, Danbury police said in a statement.
