Home Prices and Sales Weaken

Home prices and sales in Weston remain weak. The median selling price – $750,750 for the three months ending in July – fell 11 percent compared with the previous quarter, according to Trulia.com. It's off 2.4 percent from that same period a year ago and down about 50 percent from its peak in first part of 2008.

The median is the midpoint. The same number of houses sold above that price as sold below it. A falling median means that more homes are being sold at lower prices than in the previous period.

The median price on new listings in Weston dropped by 17.4 percent. Either high-end houses are being kept off the market or sellers have gotten the message from their Realtors. To move a house, you have to offer something special in the price.
