? The area celebrated Independence Day this week, with the annual Family Fourth Fireworks Show drawing hundreds to Weston Middle School on Thursday.

? Weston Public Schools began looking ahead to the 2013-14 school year, appointing two new administrators to the district to start work later this summer.

? The Easton Republican Town Committee endorsed its candidates for this fall’s local elections last week. The candidates can become official at the Republican caucus July 16.
