The economy, jobs, and the state and national deficits were among the topics of conversation as U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, D-4th District, and state Sen. Bob Duff, D-25th District, were the featured speakers Monday morning at the Mid-Fairfield County Association of Realtors general meeting in Westport.
The event, which drew real estate professionals from all over Fairfield County, examined the "tone of governing in Washington, D.C., and Hartford."
Beyond the economy, Himes and Duff also spoke about Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the mortgage crisis, bank foreclosures and the possible repeal of mortgage interest deduction. Both politicians answered questions from the audience afterward.
The event, held at the Westport County Playhouse, was sponsored by Main Street Connect , parent company of The Daily Westport.
