Hubbell Gym at the University of Bridgeport on Sunday afternoon in a pre-primary rally.

U.S. Sens. Chris Murphy — “Connecticut is Hillary country!” — and Richard Blumenthal, a classmate at Yale Law School — “This election is about change and Hillary’s the best change maker,” opened for her.

Clinton stepped up on a small riser in the crowded gym and warmed up the crowd with some key issues. She then got to the heart of her 45 minute speech, a bang, bang, bang recitation of her goals.

"I will defend a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions; defend Planned Parenthood and marriage equality; work to end discrimination against the LGBT community; expand voting rights; and work to end Citizens United and its pernicious effect on our politics," Clinton recited.

“I will work to hold Wall Street and anybody else accountable who is undermining our economic growth and fair treatment that people in our country deserve.

“I will defend Social Security against the crazy plans to privatize it. I will defend the benefits and services our veterans have earned.

“I will defend the right of Puerto Rico to restructure their debts and a chance to get out from under that pressure.

“I will fight for comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship.”

This was all met by rousing rounds of cheers. She made a couple of quick jabs at Republicans, saying most broadly, they disagree “with everything I’ve just said.” Her take on Democratic competitor Bernie Sanders? Not a word.

She wound up telling everyone to ask themselves three questions before they vote:

  • Can this person produce positive results in your life and the life of your community?
  • Second, “because you’re also also voting for commander in chief, who can protect our country and keep us safe and lead the world?”
  • And “Who will unify our country? ... I did that as First Lady, as senator as secretary of state, trying to find common ground.”

She closed with, “I will stand up and fight for you all the way through to the White House,” and left to the sound of Rachel Platten’s "This Is My Fight Song."
