The Easton 9/11 Memorial Fund is accepting donations for a permanent tribute to the nearly 3,000 victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks, according to the Easton Courier. The goal is to reach $50,000 through a fund set up by the town.
Easton native Peter Hansen, his wife Sue, and their young daughter Christine were on one of the planes that crashed in the attacks.
Construction on the memorial is expected to begin this year. Tax-deductible donations should be sent to: 9/11 Easton Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 414, Easton CT 06612.
