WESTPORT, Conn. – Get help filing your taxes this year from IRS-certified volunteers through the AARP/IRS tax assistance program. This free, full-service program will be offered in Westport from Feb. 4 through April 15, Human Services Director Barbara Butler recently announced.
Tax preparation and electronic filing of state and federal taxes will be offered at the Senior Center and at Town Hall to local residents of all ages and incomes, with special attention to seniors and low-to-moderate income households, Butler said.
“Across the nation, more than 30,000 IRS-certified volunteers provide this service at nearly 6,200 sites,” Butler said in a statement. “Last year almost 320 returns were prepared and filed in Westport, almost all electronically, and over $300,000 in refunds were returned to local residents.”
