WESTPORT, Conn. Frederick A. D'Aiuto, 80, a lifelong resident of Westport, died Sunday, April 8, at Norwalk Hospital.
A master craftsman, D'Aiuto designed kitchens and cabinets.
He was born Oct. 1, 1931, in the Bronx and graduated from Staples High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club and the Knights of Columbus Westport Chapter. D'Auito was also one of the original organizers of Festival Italiano as part of the Westport Sons of Italy.
D'Aiuto is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley (Tedesco) D'Aiuto, five nephews and three nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph D'Aiuto and Raymond D'Aiuto; and his sister, Florence Jackson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Harding Funeral Home in Westport. A Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Church in Westport. Burial with full military honors will follow at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
