Former Westport Official Ronald Corwin Suing NYC, Citi Bike For $15M

WESTPORT, Conn. -- A former Westport Planning and Zoning chairman has filed a $15 million lawsuit against New York City and Citi Bike, according to a New York Daily News report.

Ronald Corwin and his wife are suing the city and Citi Bike's private operator for $15 million following a bike crash in 2013. 

Corwin told the Daily News that he crashed on the Citi Bike on Oct. 25, 2013 "after his front wheel struck a low barrier that had been installed next to the bicycle docking station at E. 56th St. and Madison Ave.," according to the report. 

Corwin was chairman of the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission from 2007 to 2011.
