With just a week left until Thanksgiving, Connecticut Food Bank volunteers Marie Haines, Chase McCall and Deborah Kreter were on hand at Stop & Shop Thursday collecting frozen turkeys, non-perishable food items and cash donations as part of the "Thanksgiving for All" campaign.
The campaign includes special events, food drives and fund-raisers and is a collaboration between the Connecticut Food Bank and media outlets, grocery stores and businesses throughout the state.
All food items collected during this and other campaign events are distributed to food-assistance programs before the holiday. Cash donations will go to purchase more holiday groceries.
Food Bank volunteers will be at Stop & Shop, 1790 Post Road E., until 7 p.m. If you're unable to get to Stop & Shop Thursday but would like to help the "Thanksgiving for All" campaign, you can buy a turkey or other holiday food items online at the Food Bank's virtual food drive .
