WESTPORT, Conn. — A public information session about the decision to remove 15 trees along the entrance of Westport’s Longshore Club Park will be held Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
The meeting will include First Selectman Jim Marpe, Tree Warden Bruce Lindsay and Stuart McCarthy, director of the Parks and Recreation Department. It will be held outdoors at the park and will include a walking tour of the trees slated for removal.
The trees have been deemed a public safety concern by Lindsay, who in November, inspected the trees at the request of the Parks and Recreation Department.
