Ex-Westport Housekeeper Charged With Larceny

WESTPORT, Conn. – Norwalk resident Margarita Flores-Garcia, a former Westport housekeeper, was charged Wednesday with stealing from her employer, police said.

Through an investigation, police said it was determined that Flores-Garcia, 38, had stolen the homeowner's laptop computer and a VISA gift card. The laptop was valued at $1,200, and the gift card was worth $100. Both items were recovered, police said.

Flores-Garcia was charged with third-degree larceny and sixth-degree larceny. She was released after posting $1,000 bond and is due in court Jan. 17.
