EASTON, Conn. One Easton resident who was injured in a boating accident Tuesday night said all that he remembers is sitting on a rock afterward, comforting an injured friend.
"I didn't even realize there was anything wrong with me," he said Thursday. He suffered head injuries from the boating accident on Lake Zoar that sent six people to the hospital three of whom are Easton residents.
This victim, who asked to remain anonymous, said everyone is now home from the hospital. "Everyone is fine everyone is going to live. There's no permanent damage," he said.
The boat came around a corner Tuesday night and hit an underwater boulder, which brought the boat to shore and it hit another rock, he said. The boat tilted sideways, clipping trees on the bank of the lake. He said the boat did not flip over, and five people remained on the boat even after it landed.
Rescue crews arrived within minutes, he said, and neighbors quickly sent boats out to bring people to shore. Four ambulances arrived to transport the injured passengers to Danbury Hospital.
