Election Day Arrives in Westport

WESTPORT, Conn. – Election Day is finally here — time for Westport residents to get to the polls and let their voices be heard. Before you go, here's some information you may need to know.

All polling locations are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Here are the designated polling locations by Representative Town Meeting district. If you don't know what district you're in, you can check on the town's website .

? District 1 & 9: Gym, Saugatuck Elementary School, 170 Riverside Ave.

? District 2: Cafeteria, Kings Highway Elementary School, 125 Post Road W.

? District 3 & 8: Gym, Coleytown Middle School, 255 North Ave.

? District 4: Gym, Greens Farms Elementary School, 17 Morningside Drive S.

? District 5: Auditorium, Greens Farms Elementary School, 17 Morningside Drive S.

? District 6 & 7: Gym, Long Lots School, 13 Hyde Lane

Remember to bring your identification with you to the polls. Acceptable forms of identification include Social Security card, driver's license, passport, library card, personal check showing name and address, and bill showing name and address.

Political literature of any kind cannot be visible within the 75-foot line marked at each polling place. Voters may take concealed literature with them to the polls, but this material can only be removed inside the privacy of the poll booth. The material must again be concealed before voters leave the booth and remain as such until voters are beyond the 75-foot line outside the polling location.

If you're voting by absentee ballot, those must be returned to the town clerk's office no later than 8 p.m. Tuesday, when the polls officially close.
