Friday, May 6
6 to 9 p.m.: Helen Keller Middle School's Spaghetti Dinner, school cafeteria. Join the eighth-graders for their 38th annual spaghetti dinner with live entertainment. The event is open to the public. The cost is $7 per person. Tickets may be purchased at the door or from a member of the eighth-grade class.
6:30 to 10 p.m.: Parents Night Out, Easton Community Center. An evening of games, arts and crafts and more for kids while parents go out for the night. Members $15, nonmembers $20. Preregistration is required. Dinner is provided.
6:30 p.m.: Neary Award Dinner, Roberto's Restaurant. Easton Democratic Town Committee will present Ron Kowalski with the John and Phyllis Neary Award. Gov. Dannel Malloy, U.S. Rep. Jim Himes and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal will attend.
Saturday, May 7
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Easton Garden Club's Garden Mart, Firehouse Green at Sport Hill Road and Center Road. Colorful hanging baskets, Mother's Day gift plants and an assortment of rare and hard-to-find annuals and perennials augment large assortment of perennials from club members' gardens. Rain or shine. Free admission.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Camp open house, Easton Community Center. Tour the Easton Community Center, find out about camp programs, ask questions and sign up in person.
1:30 to 3 p.m.: Sustainable Square Foot Gardening Series, Sport Hill Farm, 596 Sport Hill Road. Join Amie Guyette Hall, who is a certified square foot gardening teacher and actively involved in Fairfield's school systems edible school gardens. Cost is $10 per person, $20 per family and children under 6 are free.
7 to 10 p.m.: Regional Open Juried Fine Art Show Reception, Easton Public Library, 691 Morehouse Road. The Easton Arts Council is hosting the event, featuring 45 local artists. Cost is $25 for hors d'oeuvres, wine and music.
Saturday, May 14
1:30 to 3:30 p.m.: Country Chicks: Farmhouse Flowers, Sport Hill Farm, 596 Sport Hill Road. Unleash your inner creativity. Create a beautiful outdoor centerpiece using a variety of flowers, herbs and found objects. Preregister by Saturday, May 7. Cost is $25 per participant, all supplies included.
2 to 5 p.m.: Annual Tune-a-Bike, Easton Community Center, 364 Sport Hill Road. Professional bike technicians from Brookfield Bike Center will help get those wheels rolling for the spring. Free for members, $5 non-members. Limit of one bike per participant.
