EASTON, Conn. An Easton man was charged with breach of peace on Jan. 20 after he showed up at his wifes home in town in his underwear, police say.
Stephen St. Raymond, 48, made several calls to both the department's 911 emergency line and the nonemergency line, asking police to check in on his wife, whom he is currently estranged from, police said.
While police advised the man to stop calling, they noticed through the E911 tracking system, which traces the location of every call, that he was heading towards Easton from Fairfield. According to police, the man walked from a Fairfield hotel, where he was staying, to his wifes home on Blanchard Road.
An officer arrived at the womans home to notify her of the situation and to see if she was OK. Once inside, an officer heard knocking on the door, and when he answered, he saw St. Raymond standing outside in his underwear, police said.
Police arrested him and transported him to a local hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
St. Raymond told the office that he took off his clothes prior to knocking on the door because he wanted to make it easier for the officer to search him, police said.
St. Raymonds next court appearance is set for Feb. 15 in Bridgeport Superior Court.
