Voters will cast their ballots on a proposed $41.1 million town budget at Samuel Staples Elementary School in Easton on Tuesday. Voting hours will be 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The $41.1 million for 2011-12 includes the town, school and Region 9 school budgets.
The proposed budget reflects a mill rate increase from 22.4 to 22.96. It shows an increase in the overall operating budget of 1.5 percent, from $40.5 million to $41.1 million. The town side of the budget reflects a decrease of 0.35 percent.
The proposed Region 9 budget increases 2.3 percent overall, with Easton's portion increasing by 3.81 percent, or $383,355, because of a rise in enrollment. The total proposed budget is $21.7 million with $10,488,550 as Easton's share. There will be a separate machine vote for Region 9's budget.
