The driver of a Chevy van was not injured in a rollover accident on the Merritt Parkway south between Fairfield and Westport on Wednesday night.
Shortly before 8 p.m., Westport and Fairfield firefighters, along with state police, AMR ambulance and Westport EMS, responded to a reported rollover between exits 44 and 42.
Arriving emergency personnel found the van resting on its passenger side about 25 feet off the road. The driver was able to get himself out and was examined by AMR crews at the scene. He did not seek further medical treatment, Assistant Westport Fire Chief William Dingee said.
The accident was cleared at about 8:45 p.m. State police are in charge of the investigation.
