Throughout October, in-kind donations of serviceable shoes may be placed in the boxes in the lobbies of Town Hall at 110 Myrtle Ave. and the Center for Senior Activities at 21 Imperial Ave.

Contributors are asked to either tie the laces or use rubber bands to ensure that the pairs stay intact.

Westport attorney Ken Bernhard has once again taken on the effort to place the collection boxes and will arrange for pickup and delivery to the organization.

Soles4Souls is a global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing.

Since its inception, Soles4Souls has distributed more than 22 million pairs of shoes to both children and adults and has provided countless opportunities for indigent people to start small businesses.
