Darien Rowayton Bank Donates To Norwalk Grassroots Tennis

NORWALK, Conn. – Darien Rowayton Bank executives recently presented a donation check to Norwalk Grassroots Tennis.

For 18 years, Norwalk Grassroots Tennis has provided free year-round tennis opportunities for inner-city children.

Almost all of the participants served are at-risk African-American and Hispanic children, according to a press release.

Norwalk Grassroots Tennis also provides participants with academic tutoring sessions, life skills and leadership training, and assistance getting ready for college.

Many of the players have qualified to play high school and college tennis, with many winning private school scholarships.

Norwalk Grassroots Tennis recently refurbished its Ingalls Avenue facility with the help of GE Capital volunteers.
