WESTON, Conn. More than 15 local kids ran, tiptoed and slinked off the edge of Devil's Dander on Wednesday.
"I like that the water is 10 feet deep, and there are no rocks," said Mike from Monroe, who has made the jump at least 50 times. "I like the adrenaline rush the thrill."
Mike and his friends have gone cliff jumping in Shelton and Southbury as well but he says Weston is fun because he can do tricks off the rocks.
He discovered the cliff at Weston's Devil's Glen on the Internet. Mike and his group took turns jumping from two different rocks Wednesday. And then they swam to the edge just to climb back up to do it all again.
Mike said he has never seen anyone get hurt while jumping and doesn't think it should be illegal in Weston. Police Chief John Troxell said no injuries have been reported in the past 20 to 25 years at Devil's Glen, but the police often clear out the area on hot days.
Mike did not want to use his last name because it is illegal to swim at Devil's Glen in Weston.
