FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — If you're headed out on I-95 in Fairfield County on Friday afternoon, you won't be alone.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported a 22-mile backup along I-95 from Exit 2 in Greenwich to Exit 21 in Fairfield due to heavy volume.
Contributing to the problems just before rush-hour are an accident blocking the right lane of I-95 north between Exits 5 and 6 in Greenwich, DOT said, as well as a two-vehicle accident blocking the left lane between Exits 19 and 21 in Fairfield.
Motorists should expect delays, DOT said.
It was not clear when the accidents would be cleared. The heavy volume will continue through rush-hour as expected on a Friday afternoon in summer.
