Crashes Cause Delays For Morning Commute Across Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — A number of crashes were causing delays for the commute Wednesday morning across Fairfield County.

update: The crashes have been cleared from the highways, says DOT. 

Here are the incidents reported by the Connecticut Department of Transportation:

  • A multi-vehicle accident between Exits 3 and 2 is blocking two lanes on the Route 8/25 connector in Bridgeport. Traffic is backed up more than a mile to Exit 5.
  • Northbound I-95 is congested for 2.4 miles because a two-vehicle crash is blocking the left lane between Exits 18 and 19. The left lane is closed. 
  • A multi-vehicle crash is blocking the right and center lanes of Route 7 Southbound near Exit 1 in Norwalk. 
It was not clear when the crashes would be cleared, DOT said.
