WESTPORT, Conn. Westport resident Alan Casarrubias was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol Tuesday night after police said he was found asleep behind the wheel.
Police were called to the area of Post Road West near Riverside Avenue on a report of a person slumped over the wheel of a car stopped in the middle of the road. When officers arrived, they said they found Casarrubbias, 24, asleep. The car was in drive and Casarrubbias foot was on the brake pedal, the police report states.
When Casarrubbias woke up, police said he smelled of alcohol. He failed sobriety tests and the results of his breath test were 0.165 and 0.157, police said.
Casarrubbias was unable to post a $500 bond and was arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court Wednesday morning.
