WESTPORT, Conn. – The Bridge Street swing bridge in Westport’s Saugatuck neighborhood will be closed to traffic Wednesday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., First Selectman Gordon Joseloff announced.
During this time, the bridge will be inspected and its mechanical components will be tested, Joseloff said.
The bridge will be closed to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Another closure is planned for Monday between the same hours for the same reasons, said Joseloff.
Signs and markings for detour routes will be posted throughout the closures.
Damaged during Hurricane Sandy, the bridge — known officially as the William F. Cribari Memorial Bridge — had been under repair since February.
