WESTPORT, Conn. – There will be intermittent closures of Westport’s Bridge Street bridge this Thursday between 9 a.m. and noon, First Selectman Gordon Joseloff announced.
There will two closures of approximately 30 minutes each to allow for ongoing bridge repairs to be made, Joseloff said. During this time, the bridge will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Signs and markings for detour routes will be posted, Joseloff said.
Mechanical and electrical components of the swing bridge, officially known as the William J. Cribari Memorial Bridge, were damaged during Hurricane Sandy. Cianbro Construction Co., the contractor, is working to make the necessary repairs.
The bridge has been under repair since February.
