It was a happy ending Monday morning for Famous, a Lakeland terrier, and his owner after a frightening ordeal. At 9:20 a.m., the Westport Fire Department was called to 4 Old Hill Road on a report that Famous was trapped under the house, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Yost said in a statement.
The owner went looking for Famous and discovered he had gotten underneath the house after. Her other dogs were barking at the home's foundation.
Upon arriving, firefighters used shovels to dig out Famous. Once freed, Famous was reunited with his owner. Other than being a little dirty, Famous was not harmed. His owner reported that he would be getting a bath.
And they say curiosity kills the cat? Looks like Famous' curiosity got the best of him, too.
