Breaking News: Westport Inn, Restaurant To Make Changes To Comply With ADA, DOJ Says

Burglars Strike Three Westport Businesses

WESTPORT, Conn. – Three Westport businesses along Post Road East were broken in to Tuesday night, police said .

Around 10:49 p.m., police responded to Silver Ribbon Jewelry at 275 Post Road E., in the Playhouse Square shopping complex, after the burglar alarm went off. Officers found the front door of the jeweler's and a second store in the complex, Kennedy's All- American Barber Club, had been smashed, Lt. John Pitoniak reported.

The owners of Kennedy's All- American Barber Club, located at 295 Post Rd E., reported that nothing was stolen from the business. A cash register containing about $50 was reported stolen by the owners of Silver Ribbon Jewelry. The cash register was found a short time later in the area of 22 Riverside Ave.

Police later discovered the front door of the Phillips 66 gas station at 485 Post Road E. had also been broken. The business owner reported nothing missing. These burglaries are being investigated by the Westport Police Detective Bureau. Area police departments were alerted about these incidents.
