STRATFORD, Conn. — A member of the Bridgeport Ethics Commission has resigned after he was arrested last month when police say he arranged to meet a prostitute at a Stratford hotel but accidentally approached the wrong woman, according to the Connecticut Post.
Noel Kayo, 39, a cardiovascular researcher who has been on the commission since August, submitted his resignation letter to Mayor Joe Ganim last week, the Connecticut Post reported. Kayo said he was reluctant to resign, and that he hoped to serve on another municipal board in the future once his legal matter is resolved, according to the Connecticut Post.

Kayo was arrested in June and charged with patronizing a prostitute after an incident at the Quality Suites in Stratford, the Connecticut Post reported. Police told the Connecticut Post that Kayo had arranged to meet a prostitute but approached the wrong woman. The woman he met was also there to meet somebody who was supposed to pay her for some nude photos she had posed for, so she got in Kayo's car, according to the Connecticut Post.
As a result, the woman thought Kayo was going to sexually assault her, and pepper sprayed him, according to the Connecticut Post. The woman's boyfriend also pepper sprayed him. Kayo told the Connecticut Post that he had not been there to meet a prostitute, but that he had tried to help the woman who said she had lost her wallet, and that her boyfriend had tried to rob him.
