When police tell you not to do something, it's a good idea to listen. This is a lesson New Haven resident Jonathan Green learned in Westport on Sunday afternoon.
Police said Green, 50, was seen panhandling at the bottom of the entrance ramp to Interstate 95 in Saugatuck. Green was reportedly told he wasn't allowed to be there asking people for money. Not long after the police warning, Green was again spotted asking drivers for money at the on-ramp. He was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and is scheduled to appear in court March 9.
Also from the police blotter:
Bridgeport resident Carlos Torres, 33, was arrested in Westport on Sunday night after a computer check of his registration revealed there were two warrants out for his arrest. The warrants stemmed from motor vehicle charges he allegedly failed to appear in court for. He was charged with two counts of second-degree failure to appear and in due in court March 9.
