WESTON, EASTON AND REDDING, Conn. – Black bear sightings and a large house fire led Weston’s news this past week. Here are some of the top stories from the Weston-Easton-Redding area over the last week:

? A black bear was spotted and photographed in Weston back yards this week. It turns out the bear was the same one tranquilized and tagged in Danbury the week prior.

? Weston Volunteer Firefighters responded to a large house fire on Steep Hill Road on Thursday. No injuries were reported in the blaze.

? The Redding Board of Education announced that Easton special education teacher Tracy Edwards will be the new assistant principal of Redding Elementary School next fall.

? Real estate agents reported seeing a spike in interest in backyard pools among prospective property buyers across Fairfield County.
