Author Erica Jong Speaks About First Book In A Decade At Westport Library

WESTPORT, Conn. - On Thursday, Nov. 19, author Erica Jong will be at the Westport Public Library to discuss her first new book in over 10 years, "Fear of Dying".

Over 40 years ago, Jong’s novel "Fear of Flying" challenged views of love, marriage and sex. She wrote about what women really feel and desire. It became an international best seller and is considered a classic by many scholars.

In "Fear of Dying," Jong delivers a new perspective about love, desire, and loss.

“I’ve always wanted to write the books for women that didn’t yet exist, so I thought, I have to write about an older woman who is sexual, attractive and wants to reach out for life,” Jong said.
