WESTPORT, Conn. – The New York City aunt who sued her 12-year-old nephew after suffering a broken wrist at his birthday party four years ago appeared on “Today” on Thursday to explain her side of the story, reports NBC Connecticut .
Jennifer Connell says the lawsuit against her nephew, Sean Tarala of Westport, was her only legal option to try to get medical bills paid that were not covered by insurance, according to the report. Sean appeared on the show with this aunt.
The jury tuned down her bid for $127,000 in damages in the case heard at the Bridgeport courthouse.
