Longtime Weston resident and real estate agent Anthony R. Piro died Friday, Oct. 15, at age 73.
After graduating from Fairfield Prep in 1955 and College of the Holy Cross in 1959, he founded Piro Associates Inc., an independent residential real estate firm in Norwalk. Piro, who most recently was an adviser for SCORE, Counselors to America's Small Business, was president of the Norwalk Board of Realtors, Country Living Associates and the Fairfield County Chapter of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers. He was a director of Mid-Fairfield Hospice and served on the Weston Booster's Club. He also volunteered at the Norwalk branch of the American Red Cross and the Junior Chamber of Commerce.
After retiring in 1992 and moving to North Carolina with former wife Dael in 1995, he became interested in organic farming and traveling. He moved back to Weston in 2005, to care for Dael, who was battling with cancer.
