original story: Rail service is suspended in and out Penn Station after an Amtrak train derailed Friday at about 9:30 a.m.
Three people have suffered minor injuries, according to multiple reports.
An Amtrak Acela departing Penn Station made contact with a New Jersey Transit train in the station. About 250 passengers were removed from the train, Amtrak said.
Amtrak passengers are being diverted onto Metro-North trains at Yonkers to head to Grand Central Terminal from the Empire Corridor.
Service into and out of New York Penn Station will be delayed.
