Amelia T. Brooks, a 10 year Westport resident, died on Oct. 23 at Wilton Meadows Health Care Center. She was 85.
Born Aug. 24, 1925 in Friuli, Italy, Brooks came to the U.S. when she met and married her late husband Lawrence J. Brooks, following World War II. Once here, she became a citizen and began raising her family. Before moving to Westport, Brooks was a longtime resident of Wilton.
Brooks worked at Union Trust Bank for more than 40 years, starting in the back office in Old Greenwich and working as a teller in Wilton before going to the Greenwich branch at the train station as manager. After retiring from the bank in the late '80s, she worked as the assistant manager of the Little Shop at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan.
She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Baxter of New York City; a son, Christopher Brooks of Glen Cove, N.Y., three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton on Friday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. The Harding Funeral Home in Westport is assisting with arrangements. Online condolences can be left at the Harding Funeral website .
