The Whiffenpoofs will perform at the Y’s meeting at 10:30 a.m. at the Unitarian Church in Westport at 10 Lyons Plain Road. The Whiffenpoofs formed in 1909 after five men in Yale's Glee Club met at Mory's Temple Bar, according to a press release.
"The group quickly became one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions," according to the release. "Members have included Cole Porter, Prescott Bush and Charles Rivkin, recent U.S. Ambassador to France and Monaco. They now travel and perform extensively during the school year and take a world tour during the summer."
The Y's Men of Westport/Weston is an organization of semi-retired and retired men with a continued interest in activity, fellowship, learning and community service.
